Labelling fruit preparations in India
Autocomplete is full of people looking for the FSSAI fruit manual. The manual is the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India’s document, on fssai.gov.in. This page does not replace it and does not interpret it for your SKU.
What usually comes up in a brief
The ingredient list has to match what was added, in the order the rules require. Sweeteners in a sugar-reduced system have to be the ones you are allowed to use in that food, and they have to be declared. A colour additive and a colouring food are not automatically the same words on a pack.
“Real fruit” and similar lines
Those are claims about your finished food. They depend on fruit content, the category standard and the rest of the label. Frootrition will state fruit content on an accepted spec. We will not write your consumer claim.
Our own status
The FSSAI licence is in process. This site does not list any other certificate. Details are on the quality page. When a number exists and can be published, it will replace the placeholder.
Questions
Does Frootrition hold a state FSSAI licence?
It is in progress. This site does not show a licence number and does not claim one.
Is a colouring food labelled like a colour additive?
Not always. The status of the ingredient decides the words. Name the ingredient on the spec and confirm the wording with your advisor.
Can we say real fruit?
Only if the finished food and the preparation support that wording under the rules that apply to you. We will not supply the sentence.
